FCPS Telecom Audit & Migration

City of Fort Collins Police Services

Prior to this project starting, the City of Fort Collins Police Services (FCPS) was part of the City of Fort Collins' cellular account with Verizon. This project included the following milestones/deliverables:


  • Reviewing and completing an audit of the lines of services associated to the FCPS Verizon account.

  • Signal and network connectivity mapping and drive testing.

  • Completing reports specific to the findings of network coverage.

  • Completing financial analysis on the current annual spend for Verizon cellular service.

  • Drafting proposals to FCPS executive staff on the findings and options to migrate to another service provide.

  • Negotiating pricing and incentives with AT&T and T-Mobile, to create competitive bids for FCPS executive staff to review.

  • Ordering new devices for all FCPS employees and scheduling each staff member to receive a new device and trade-in their old device.

  • Managing the migration of over 600 devices to a new cellular service provider.

  • Providing cell phone cases and accessories.


Project Highlights:


  • Negotiated approximately $225,000 in incentives for FCPS to migrate from Verizon to AT&T, built with AT&T.

  • Over 600 devices/users migrated to FirstNet.
