Position: Logistics Manager

Salary: $65,000 + Quarterly Profit Sharing (15%)

Position is eligible for salary reviews/increases every 6 months, based on business growth

About BlueGovTech

Welcome and thank you so much for your interest in becoming a team member at BlueGovTech. After over a decade of working in law enforcement, I retired my badge to start my career in IT which led to me creating and launching BlueGovTech LLC in February 2022. Since the launch, I have been fortunate enough to have built a continually growing list of clients and revenue streams. Currently I am working on two primary projects:​

  • Fort Collins Police Services: Since September I have been working with FCPS to negotiate cell service provider contracts and manage a large scale police vehicle technology project. During January and February, I will be managing the migration of all 330+ staff members and their devices from Verizon to FirstNet. In addition, 149 vehicles are being installed with Sierra Wireless routers, which are equipped with FirstNet and T-Mobile service. These technology projects have a lot of moving parts and include transporting vehicles from FCPS to the installers, being in constant communication with end users, and being very well organized. The project is expected to cost approximately $850,000 and be complete by August of this year.

  • Out Boulder County: Having spent a decade in law enforcement and previously led the LGBTQ Liaison program for the Boulder Police Department, I was a prime candidate to help OBC when they were awarded a grant to provide law enforcement training and coordinate community engagement events, in reference to targeted acts of violence. OBC has hired BlueGovTech as the project manager to oversee this two year grant, which includes managing all grant funds, documents, scheduling, and coordinating training events with law enforcement, OBC staff, and community organizations. 

As I continue to plan out 2023 and future business opportunities, there are three areas of emphasis which I will be looking to expand in:

  • Having built mobile applications for the Boulder Police Department and Westminster Police Department, I will be looking for opportunities to form strategic partnerships to increase the number of agencies who purchase these services from BlueGovTech. The goal being to have at least 10 additional agencies by Q2 of 2024

  • Technology Accessories: BlueGovTech has been established a vendor for accessories such as cellphone cases, charging ports, and other small consumer electronics. This venture compliments the project management services being provided to agencies migrating cellphone providers. This opportunity allows BlueGovTech to capitalize on additional revenue opportunities while also providing clients with a more fiscally responsible option to purchase these items.

  • Cell Service Provider Evaluation & Migration Services: This includes everything from working with an agency to create a Request for Information, to contract negotiations for offers, evaluating cellphone coverage in designated jurisdictions and overseeing all aspects of the migration process.

As I continue to work through current projects and plan the expansion of services, I am looking not only for a new employee, but a partner, who is willing to take a leap of faith on a startup and has a passion for help those who serve our communities each and every day. The successful candidate will be only the second employee of BlueGovTech, and as such, will have a great opportunity to help build a thriving business.

Position: Logistics Manager

Salary: $65,000 + Quarterly Profit Sharing (15%)

 

Primary Responsibilities
  • Assist in managing all of the moving parts of current and future projects. This includes driving and delivering vehicles, organizing equipment, managing delivers, updating and managing large amounts of data, and other duties as requested

  • Take on the role of assist project manager as needed

  • Work week is split between working at home, on-site with clients, and transporting vehicles

Preferred Qualifications
  • Exceptionally strong organizational skills

  • Experience managing projects and/or technology implementations

  • Experience and/or willingness to learn Microsoft 365 applications, specifically SharePoint and PowerApps

  • Experience working in or with law enforcement or first responders

  • Candidate must pass background check and be eligible to be added to the CJIS Vendor Management Program

    • Disqualifications include: Felony convictions, crimes against a person, financial crimes, computer crimes, crimes in reference to honesty and/or fraud, and theft

  • No more than two moving traffic citations in the past 3 years, and no DUI, reckless, and/or misdemeanor driving violations in the past 7 years

  • Must have reliable transportation and a valid Colorado drivers license

  • Experience with Apple Business Manager

  • An understanding of mobile device management

  • Reside in the Denver metro area

Benefits
  • Medical through Kaiser Permanente: BlueGovTech will pay 100% of monthly medical premiums, up to $500 per month

  • Annual Leave: 4 Weeks

  • Profit Sharing: At the conclusion of each quarter, 15% of BlueGovTech net profit will be paid to employee as a one-time bonus

  • Retirement: Not currently being provided but this is on the road map to launch in late 2024 and estimated to be 20% contribution (5% employee, 15% BlueGovTech)
